Linda Marrine Leech, age 76 of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023. She was born in Snyder, Texas on July 8, 1947, to the late James Rex and Era Mae (Foster) Woodard. Linda was a 1965 graduate of Weatherford High School. She then earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in elementary education from the University of Texas. Linda was employed by the Franklin County School System for over thirty years at Rock Creek Elementary School, where she spent much of her career teaching fifth grade and ended her career teaching first grade. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed watching the Tennessee Titans and the Texas Longhorns. She also enjoyed reading, writing handwritten notes, and playing cards and board games, as well as singing, playing the piano, and listening to music. Family meant everything to Linda, and she cherished time spent with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren. Every Christmas, Linda would plan special activities for her family to enjoy. A simple lady, with a great sense of humor, Linda will be missed by all her family and friends. She was a dedicated member of Little Mountain Church of Christ. Linda is survived by her loving and devoted husband of fifty-two years, Gary Leech; children, Chris Leech, Greg (Jenny) Leech, and Mark (Liz) Leech; grandchildren, Evan, Andrew, Claire, Cooper, Carleigh, and Ava; sisters, Carol Adams, and Marcelle Weinstein; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Monday, August 21, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, in the Moore-Cortner Chapel. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
