Ms. Linda Kay Vest Cothren Ms. Linda Kay Vest Cothren, of the Gum Pond Community of Eva, Alabama, passed away at her residence on Friday, October 25, 2025. She was 77. Linda was born December 2, 1946 in Morgan County, AL. Her parents were Leeman Lankston Vest and Fannie Grace Thomas Vest. Linda was a high school graduate and worked in sales the majority of her professional work career.
Linda was always up for an adventure during her younger years. She loved traveling and experiencing the new and different. But then she could also be found sitting beside a river, pond or lake with a fishing pole in her hands. Spending quality time with her grand and great grandchildren was time she considered well spent. She also enjoyed gardening, cross word puzzles, Gunsmoke reruns and her two dogs (Autumn and Lucy). Linda loved and was loved by all. She will be missed.
Family members Linda leaves behind to cherish their memories include her sons and daughters in law, Scott and Marla Cobbs, Chris and Tammy Cobbs and Tobby and Marina Cobbs; sister, Lorene Harville; brothers and sisters in law, Howard and Marie Vest and Charles and Wanda Vest. Linda is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leeman and Fannie Vest and several brothers and sisters.
Services for Linda are planned for Monday, October 28, 2024 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Family members will receive friends and guests at a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service following at 2:00. Brother Dan Hopper will be officiating. Pallbearers escorting Linda to her final resting place in Gum Pond Cemetery in Morgan County, AL will be Langston Cobbs, Matt Cobbs, Kyle Frost, David Vest, Mason Frost, Scott Cobbs and Wes Hart. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
