Born on July 1, 1947 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  She leaves behind a legacy as a devoted wife to Don Huckabee and a nurturing mother to Kimberly (Kevin) Huckabee Minor and David (Christina) Huckabee. Her joy was multiplied by her grandchildren, Keegan Minor, Kaylee Minor, Kooper Minor, Harper Huckabee, Klaire Minor, and John David Huckabee. She was also a proud aunt to all of her nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Ditman V. Hawkins and Mary Kneezle Hawkins. Her life was a testament to kindness and generosity, traits that were evident in everything she did from bringing her signature chocolate chip cookies wherever she went to her warm, welcoming presence that made everyone feel loved.

A faithful member of the Canal Heights Church of Christ in Demopolis and later the West Huntsville Church of Christ, Linda’s commitment to her faith community was profound. She enjoyed participating in the Dorcas class and was deeply involved in various church activities.

Linda cherished her time with family, especially her grandchildren, and had a passion for gardening and collecting birdhouses that Don would place around their yard. Her hobbies reflected her love for nurturing and creating joy around her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or West Huntsville Church of Christ honoring Linda’s compassionate spirit. Her warmth and generosity will be dearly missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those she touched.

A Celebration of Life will be November 16, 2024 at West Huntsville Church of Christ, 1519 Old Monrovia Road NW, Huntsville, AL 35806. Visitation will begin at 1 pm and services will begin at 2 pm.
