Linda Kay Ezell Kelley, 71, of Sheffield, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023, at Helen Keller Hospital. She was born October 17, 1951, to Marvin Ezell and Archie Treadway Ezell.
Kay grew up in Sheffield and graduated from Sheffield High School, Class of 1970. After graduation, Kay became the wife of W. C. “Doug” Kelley, the love of her life. She and Doug had one son, Douglas Paul Kelley. They raised Paul together until Doug died in March, 1988. Kay continued to be a good mother and raised Paul with her goodness and love.
Kay was a member of Abundant Grace Church, Sheffield. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Kelley; and her sisters-in-law, Beadie Kelley and Florine Smith.
Kay is survived by her son, Douglas Paul Kelley, Sheffield; brother, Stephen Ezell (Jeneane); niece, Leticia Rasmussen, nephew, Troy Ezell; great-nieces and great-nephews, Aiden and Ember Rasmussen, and Hudson and Mattie Ruth Ezell. She is also survived by her Kelley family, brothers-in-law, Jimmy, Jerry, Dunie, Mickey, and Coy Kelley; sisters-in-law, Annie Smith, Betty Thompson, and Susie Cox.
Kay’s service will be at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, with visitation on Thursday, May 18, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The funeral will follow in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. with her cousins, Rick and Mike Davis officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, near Waterloo, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be Troy Ezell; Mickey, Wade, Jerry, and Tyler Kelley; and Billy and Tommy Davis. Hudson Ezell and Dwight and Jerry Ezell will serve as honorary pallbearers.
