Linda Joyce Smith, 75, resident of Ripley, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023, in the comfort of her own home following an extended illness.
Funeral Services honoring the life of Mrs. Smith will be at 2 PM, Wednesday, February 8, 2023, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Doc Shelton officiating. Visitation will be from 11 AM until 2PM, Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at The Ripley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Falkner Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born on November 29, 1947, in Tippah County, the daughter of the late Henry Bud and Annie Faye Luna Cardwell. She was a graduate of Walnut High School and was a valued chef aboard the Winterville Marine for over 10 years before retirement.
A Christian and a true Bargain Hunter, Mrs. Smith found much joy and pleasure in her yardwork, gardening, flowers, canning various foods, sight-seeing, and purchasing everything “on sale”.
“She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare to her.” Proverbs 3:15
Those left to cherish memories include her devoted husband, Jimmy Smith, one daughter, Tammy Mosier (Johnny), three sisters, Donna Carter (Buck), Kathy Ray (Kenny), and Shirley Mathis, ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a loyal canine companion, Stinky.
She is also preceded in death by her son, Billy McCollum and her brother, Ricky Tate Cardwell.
