It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Faye Harris Cox, a beloved member of the Lewisburg community and was a dedicated Deputy Clerk for the Assessor of Property in the Marshall County Government for many years. Linda, born on September 15, 1946, in Hartselle, AL, peacefully departed from this world on October 1, 2024, at the age of 78.
Linda was known for her infectious big smile, vibrant crystal blue eyes, and compassionate nature that brightened the lives of all who knew her. Her strong faith in God and her devotion to Richland Cumberland Presbyterian Church were evident in all aspects of her life. Linda had a passion for solving Sudoku puzzles, adored animals, and found joy in visiting the nursing home to help alleviate the loneliness of its residents.
A caring wife, mother, and grandmother, Linda treasured her family above all else. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Jean Harris; her husband, Ray Cox; and her sister, Betty Hampton. She is survived by her son, Derrick Cox; daughters, LaSonya Walls and Cassie Thomason (Will), her cherished grandchildren, Aaron Thomason (Katie), Madison Thomason (Tanner Clark), Nathan Thomason (Lynzee), and MacKenzie Walls (Thomas J Beardsley; and great grandchild, Collin Thomason. Linda found immense joy in watching her grandchildren play sports and was a pillar of support and love for her entire family. In addition to her family, Linda had many loved and cherished friends in her lifetime. She was also fortunate to have a devoted caregiver, Trina Lonning, who offered unwavering support and companionship.
Friends, family, and acquaintances are invited to pay their respects at the visitation which is scheduled to be held at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and will continue the next day, Friday, October 4, 2024, at Richland Cumberland Presbyterian Church from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The funeral service will take place at Richland Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM with burial following in Short Cemetery.
Linda Faye Cox’s absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of kindness, faith, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
