Funeral service for Linda Faye Elliott, 83, will be Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Valhermoso Baptist Church with Bro. Craye Hall officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Valhermoso Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Valhermoso Baptist Church.
Mrs. Elliott died on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at her residence. She was born January 10, 1940, in Madison County to “Sip” Freeman Yearwood Moore and Pearl Lee Hornbuckle Moore.
Linda Faye graduated from Cotaco High School in 1958. She went to work at the shoe plant until she married her high school sweetheart, William “Bibb” Jennings and moved to Charleston, SC Air Force Base. There they had a daughter, Melinda, in 1961. In 1962 Bibb was in a car accident which left him paralyzed. They moved back to Lacey’s Spring were Linda Faye devoted her life to caring for her husband and daughter. In April 1967, Bibb was riding in a car involved in another accident and he passed three days later from his injuries. In 1969, Linda Faye married Bob Elliott who had a daughter, Pam. In 1974, they had the pride and joy of their life, Robert Louis Elliott, Jr. or better known as “Robbie”. Linda Faye worked at Automatic Electric but devoted herself to caring for her family. Once she retired, she cleaned houses to make extra money. Cleaning houses always seemed to be her main hobby. She faithfully attended and served at Valhermoso Baptist Church for 40 years until her health prevented her from attending. She buried her second husband of 53 years just over a year ago.
Mrs. Elliott was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, William “Bibb” Jennings and Robert “Bob” Elliott; brothers, Carl Whisante, Billy Wayne Moore, Bobby Moore, Burlon “Dillard” Moore; sisters, Hattie McComb Hall, Hilda Lenox, Peggy Thompson, Nancy Johnston and Maggie Moore.
