Linda Davis, 78, of Union Community, passed Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. She was born September 26, 1945 in Alligator MS. She graduated from Nettleton High School in 1963. Her career spanned many years and areas, but her last and most favorite job was driving a catering truck where she made friends everywhere she went and being a full time caregiver to her brother Lenon.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, telling stories and sharing memories. She loved a good mystery book or movie, putting together puzzles and paint by numbers that she always gave away. She had a sharp wit and a big laugh and was loved and will be missed by many. Linda was a lifelong Christian and is in the Garden enjoying the glory of Jesus’ face while surrounded by her loved ones long gone.
A celebration of life service for Linda will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 22, 2024 in the Sadie M. Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo with Pastor Tony Cooperwood officiating. Visitation will be from 10 AM to service time. Private burial will take place at Carey Springs Cemetery in Springville. For those unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed at 11 AM at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/live-streaming and will be archived afterward. Linda is survived by daughter, Janice Chism (Andy), brother, Cleveland Lindsey (Pat); her grandchildren, Jessica, Drew & Owen Chism; her great-grandchildren, Kylee, Braylin, Blakelee, Layton & Everlee; and a myriad of nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins galore! She also survived by her most special friend, Wanda Lindsey, and the love of her life, Jimmy Cooperwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, E.L. & Ruth Lindsey; brothers, Lenon Lindsey & Gary Lindsey; and her sister, Myra Bass.
