Linda Adair Kyle crossed the finish line into the arms of Jesus on September 8, 2024, surrounded by her family. Linda was born in Birmingham, Alabama on December 12, 1954. She was preceded in death by her parents, Conrad and Cathryn Adair, and brother, Douglas Adair.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Rick Kyle; children Amy (Scott) Stapler, Emily (Hayden) Meredith, and David (Maggee) Kyle; grandchildren, Eli, Caroline, and Camp Stapler, Henry and Luke Meredith, and Lillian and Hattie Kyle; and her sister, Karen (Joe) Stroud.
Linda, best known as Meeps, graduated from Auburn University in 1975 where she met the love of her life. She and her husband, Rick, lived in Andalusia, Alabama for 40 years where Linda was a National Board-Certified teacher and taught elementary and middle school grade levels for over 20 years. She received her master’s degree from Troy University and always had a passion for learning, teaching, and mentoring. Linda was very active in community organizations including serving as the President of the Covington County Arts Council and founding the Living History Parade and Hands on Museum. In 2018, she and her husband retired and moved to Huntsville to be close to children and grandchildren. She became the biggest supporter of all her grandkids’ passions. Linda was never idle and loved to travel, which led her to create special adventures for and with her family all over the world. Most importantly, Linda was a faithful servant of Jesus and was actively involved at Cedar Grove Church of Christ in Andalusia and Mayfair Church of Christ in Huntsville teaching Bible classes, organizing events, and mentoring young ladies.
Even after a cancer diagnosis in 2018, Linda lived everyday fully with joy. She never let trials defeat her and, instead, faced them head on knowing the Lord is sovereign and always good. She leaves behind the legacy of a husband, children, and grandchildren who know they are the luckiest people on Earth to have been loved by her.
There will be a private graveside service for family only on Wednesday. A Celebration of Life service will take place at Mayfair Church of Christ in Huntsville, Alabama, on Sunday, September 15th at 1:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mayfair Church of Christ earmarked for Mayfair Kids Ministry in order to continue Linda’s legacy and passions of education and Jesus.
