LIMESTONE COUNTY – Limestone County once again ranks as the Fastest-Growing County in the State of Alabama, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Vintage 2023 estimates of population and components of change released on March 14, 2024.
Data indicates the following:
- Limestone County Population Estimate (as of July 1, 2023) = 114,654 (103,565 in 2020)
- Limestone County is the 11th largest county in the State of Alabama
- Annual Change from July 1, 2022, to July 1, 2023, = +3,786 or 3.4%
- Cumulative Change from April 1, 2020, to July 1, 2023, = +11,089 or 10.7%
“I am honored to witness our community’s remarkable growth,” said Limestone County Commission Chairman Collin Daly. “I thank the people working daily to make Limestone County a great place to live, work, worship, and play.”

Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association President & CEO Tami Reist said newcomers are attracted to the area for several reasons.
“The affordable cost of living, healthy business environment, numerous outdoor recreation opportunities, and their Main Street area is one of the best,” said Reist.
