LIMESTONE COUNTY – Each Limestone County Nutrition Center will be open for activities on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., beginning June 1, 2021. We will increase hours to offer more services, as we are allowed.
The Goodsprings Center and Ardmore Center are activity centers and do not serve our contracted meals. These centers will open at a later date.
Our staff will follow the guideline of ADSS’ “Senior Center Reopening Guideline Manual”. A few notes from the guidelines:
- Staff will encourage clients to wear masks, distance, wash hands and sanitize.
- NO transportation is to be provided to our seniors at this time.
- Seniors will NOT be allowed to eat a meal inside the center. We will send a meal home with center participants each day. We will continue regular curbside pick-up for our congregate clients on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays. **There will be no change in homebound meal delivery.**
- We may provide individually packaged snacks and drinks for the seniors at the center. They may also bring their own if it is packaged individually.
- Seniors will NOT be allowed to play games such as cards, dominoes, checkers due to distancing concerns. They WILL be allowed to play BINGO, corn hole, shuffleboard, horseshoes, line dancing and games that do not require close contact. Quilting may resume at the centers. Our Evidenced-Based exercise program (SAIL) has been offered online from our office. We will be offering it online and in person when the centers open.
As we are allowed to offer more services, updates will be provided.
