Limestone Correctional Facility Warden And His Wife Arrested On Drug Charges

LIMESTONE COUNTY-On Friday the warden at the Limestone Correctional Facility in Harvest was arrested along with his wife.  The Alabama Department of Corrections Law Enforcement Services made the arrest along with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s SWAT team and the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office.

Bench warrants were served on Warden Chadwick Crabtree and his wife Melissa Crabtree in which both were charged with 2nd degree unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, manufacturing a controlled substance as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.

They were both taken to the Limestone County Jail.

According to arrest records this arrest comes after an incident which occurred in Limestone County on September 1 of 20222. At this time the records indicate the manufacture of psilocybin mushrooms.

Warden Chadwick Crabtree has been placed on mandatory leave without pay pending further action, this according to officials at the Alabama Department of Corrections.

Crabtree from Elkmont has been with the ADOC for over 20 years and before coming to the Limestone facility was warden at the Birmingham Community Based Facility for Women.

LESD agents also executed a search warrant for Chad Crabtree’s office at Limestone. The LESD investigation is ongoing and further charges may be pending.

Limestone County jail records show five warrants for Chad Crabtree issued by the sheriff’s office. Melissa Crabtree is held on five charges issued by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
