Lillie Vern Henderson, age 93 of Lynchburg, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020 at home with her family by her side. She was born on May 3, 1927 in Moore County to the late Morris and Ella (Whitaker) Eady. Lillie attended Highview Elementary School in Lynchburg. She married the late Joe Mack Henderson in February 1949. Lillie joined Berry Chapel A.M.E. Church at a young age. She was a devoted and active member until her health started to fail her. Lillie was the type of woman who never met a stranger, and she would do anything she could to help others. She was a hard worker and had been employed by the school system as well as Tyson. She loved talking on the phone, picking turnip greens, cooking, and gardening. In addition to her husband and parents, Lillie was preceded in death by her three sons, Wallace Henderson, Mack Henderson, and Edward Henderson. She is survived by three daughters, Nancy (Larry) King, Minnie L. (Tommy Allen) Henderson, and Connie (Larry) McGowen; daughter-in-law, Sharon Buchanan; grandchildren, Sikitia Allen, Lavon King, Corey (Jill) King, Alisha (Jose) Serrano, Edward Joe Henderson, Geoffrey McGowen, and Stephanie McGowen; great-grandchildren, Olivia Allen, Elijah Cobb, Breanna Taylor, Amelie Serrano, and Austyn Serrano; great-great-grandchildren, Terren Taylor, and Treyson Taylor; brother, Claude (Dorothy) Eady; sister, Ruby Trollinger; sister-in-law, Joyce Eady; devoted friend, Jewell Wells, and Alice Bailey; and special niece, Louise March. Visitation will be from 12-1 pm on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
