Mrs. Lillie Marie Rich, 89, of Florence, passed away Thursday November 8, 2012, at ECM Hospital following a brief illness. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm Sunday November 11, 2012, followed by the service at 2:30pm in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Brothers Doc Shell and Tommy James. Burial will be in Community Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Rich was born in Florence to the late Neal and Mary Katherine Davis. She attended Cross Roads Baptist Church.
Marie was a very kind and loving person who loved God and her family. She loved having company and cooking for them. She made the best fried chicken and chocolate pie. She loved to sew and made beautiful quilts. She was a wonderful mother to her daughter whom she loved greatly. She also loved her grandchildren and was very proud of all of them. She is going to be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Willard Rich, brothers, Ellis Davis and Dugal Davis; sisters, Geneva Cantrell, Elva Draper, Berthy Littleton, Elizabeth Collins and Lettie Gray. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Rhodes; sister, Willodean Atkinson; grandchildren, Tracy Rhodes (Jessica), Kim Holt (Jerry), and Alisha Rhodes; great-grandchildren, Trace Rhodes, Kara Rhodes, Track Rhodes, Dustin Blackstock, and Brianna Harrison.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Rhodes, Jackie Rhodes, Jerry Holt, Dustin Blackstock, James Atkinson and Lucas Cantrell.
