Liff Daniel, age 85, of Guntersville, passed away on April 23, 2024. He was born to the late James Arthur and Doshie Daniel on October 14, 1938, in Winston County, Alabama. He was the youngest of ten children, and spent his childhood working alongside his parents and older siblings share cropping.
He married the love of his life, Margaret Daniel, on October 6, 1960. They enjoyed raising four sons on their farm in the Pleasant Grove Community. He was the proud owner of Liff Daniel and Sons Masonry, where he worked in the trade for over fifty years. His sons continue the masonry business today.
He was active in the community, and was a founding member of the Pleasant Grove Volunteer Fire Department. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of being a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret Daniel, sons, Chris Daniel, Johnny Daniel (Barbara), and Ronny Daniel (Tanya), grandchildren, Laura Daniel (Lebron), Jessica Cooley (Casey), Tyler Daniel (Rylee), Lee-Ann Merritt (Paul), Kyle Daniel, Jackson Daniel, Tye Daniel and Terra Daniel, nine great grandchildren, sisters, Dovie Dowdey and Helen Evans, brother in law, Joe Maddox.
He is preceded in death by his son, Billy Joe Daniel, parents James Arthur and Doshie Daniel, siblings, Ruby Daniel, Weldon Daniel, Elton Daniel, Felton Daniel, Dean Daniel, Zeak Daniel, and Artie Maddox.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service on Friday beginning at 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers assisting Mr. Daniel to his final resting place at Pleasant Grove Cemetery is Tyler Daniel, Kyle Daniel, Jackson Daniel, Tye Daniel, Casey Cooley, Pierson Cooley, Lebron Craft, Shawn Daniel and Braylen Underwood. Honorary pallbearers are Lincoln Craft, Tripp Daniel, Mason Daniel and Bowen Daniel.
