Lex Rhodes, Sr., 84, died Friday, January 28, 2022 at Magnolia Regional Health Center.

Aprivate family graveside service will be held at New Hope Presbyterian Cemetery.

Mr. Rhodes was born in Corinth, MS on January 14, 1938 to the late James Elmer and Mollie Galyean Rhodes.

He was a graduate of Corinth High School, a graduate of Arkansas State with a BS in math and earned his masters degree from the University of North Alabama, served 30 years on the ACE board of directors and served in the US Marines. He was a former principal at Burnsville, Assistant Principal at Biggersville and coached football at Lapano, AR, Drew, MS, Kossuth and Biggersville. He enjoyed all sports and especially enjoyed entertaining his family and friends with a fish fry.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Biggers Rhodes; son, Jeff Rhodes; parents and his brother Linton Rhodes.

He is survived by his sons, Lex Rhodes, Jr., Matt Rhodes (Missy); grandchildren, Ashley Rhodes Mize (Boomer), Meloney Rhodes Gantez (Juan), Julia Rhodes Parker (Clay), Della Rhodes, Madeline Rhodes; great-grandchildren, Palmer Mize and Martha Mize and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
