Master Sergeant (retired) Lewis N. Graham, Sr. peacefully left this world on the evening of January 3rd, 2018 at age 89.  Elizabeth, his wife of 66 years, was at his side.  Big Lew was born in Belle, WV in 1928 to a family of 6 brothers and 2 sisters.  He escaped a life in the coal mines by joining the Army at age 17.  He met Liz while stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO after returning from his first of 3 deployments to Germany and another to Korea.  Over the years they lived in the US and overseas, collected a room full of stories and 4 children who were all successful enough.  He taught his children many things, the most important being to never say you can’t fix something till you’ve tried and that the impossible just takes a little longer.

Lew is survived by his wife, Liz; a daughter, Laura, of Lavergne TN; and sons, Robert and Lewis Jr. of Huntsville.   He was preceded in death by his youngest child, Susan, and eight of his siblings.  He will be sorely missed but he was too big in life to have a little thing like death cause him to be forgotten.

A private memorial service is planned.
