(Lewis) Glenn Campbell, 88, of Hazel Green, AL passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at his home with his family by his side.

Glenn was born on January 1, 1934, the son of John and Ethel Campbell of New Market, AL. He married Martha Patterson Campbell on August 3, 1952, where they shared nearly 70 years together.

He farmed in Madison County for over 30 years, where he farmed all across Madison county, in such locations that are now significant landmarks of Huntsville; Cummings Research Park West, where the rows of cotton were a mile long. After farming, he worked as a mechanic at General Products and AC Manufacturing, prior to retiring to their cattle farm and small motor shop in Hazel Green, AL.

Glenn loved baseball and successfully played many years as a catcher, in leagues in Alabama and continued his love for the game by coaching many baseball teams through his life. Glenn was very active in his Madison County community. Glenn was very active in the Madison County community with his family and was very influential at the Madison Cross Roads School and Sparkman High School. In 1966, Glenn was the first Madison Cross Roads Booster Club President. As a member of the Huntsville Chamber of Commerce, he hosted many of the yearly Fish Fries at their farm in Toney, AL. Glenn gave and received the most joy in life spending time with his family and friends hosting yearly 4th of July BBQs. So many in the community will remember these and it was comforting that he passed near a holiday that was so special to him, still the best BBQ ribs ever.

Glenn leaves behind his wife, Martha Patterson Campbell, his sons; Danny (Debbie) Campbell and Ricky (Sandy) Campbell, his daughters; Lisa (Terry) Phillips and Lori Campbell; grandchildren: Candace (Mac) Lassiter, Heath (Beth) Campbell, Mackenzie Campbell, Jonathan Phillips, Jamie (Josh) Nelson, Whitney Donning, Meghin Dorning and Austin Dorning, six (6) great-grandchildren, Logan and Campbell Lassiter, Gavin and Brook Campbell, and Brylee and Kenna Nelson.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Ralph, Jack, John and Buster Campbell, and his sister Joyce Moyers. Surviving sister is Carolyn Loggins.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 10 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Valhalla Funeral Home and Memory Gardens. A service will be held immediately following.
