Leta Sue Edgemon – Obituary

Leta Sue Edgemon age 78 of Athens, went to her eternal home on Wednesday, July 5, 2017. Sue was born April 23, 1939 in Morgan County, AL to James A. Slaton and Pearl V. Newton Slaton.

Services will be Saturday, July 8, 2017 2:00 p.m., at Midway Baptist Church with Bro. Gerome Hilliard officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, from 11:45 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Entombment will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.

Sue was a member of Midway Baptist Church. She loved watching Grayson play sports, spending time with family and enjoyed designing beautiful flower baskets.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Joe Edgemon; sister, Pat Black.

Survived by one son, Jason Edgemon and wife, Lori of Athens; one grandson, Grayson Edgemon of Athens; three sisters, Joyce Cluff of Harvest, Judy Gilbert and Kay Hill both of Athens; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Henderson, Bryon Scott, Tab Black, Barry Black, Todd Crouch and Joseph Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be Sue’s brother-in-laws: Norm Cluff, Gene Black, Jerry Gilbert and Dwight Hill as well as the deacons of Midway Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Midway Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
