Leslie Thomas Miller, 96, of Saltillo, passed away Wednesday March 19, 2025 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo.He was born December 15, 1928 to Clovis Thomas Miller and Agnes Savoie Miller in Sunset, LA. He graduated high school at the age of 17. After graduating he joined the Army Air Force which later became the U.S. Air Force with his parents signing for his permission to join at the early age of 17. Leslie Miller retired in 1966 at the rank of OF E7 Master Sargent. Leslie proudly served for 20 years with his career spanning over WW2, Korean War, and Viet Nam. Leslie married his bride Mary Vance on September 18, 1954. They were married for 62 years and 10 months until her passing on September 17, 2017. After Leslie’s military career finished he went to work for Morrisons Food Service which later became Sodexo. His career covered 51 years. Upon retiring at the age of 90 Leslie was working 32 hours each week. The last 20 years of his career Leslie and his only son Steven worked together almost every day.
Leslie was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church in Saltillo. His hobbies were creating ice sculptors, Judo (Black Belt), gardening, cooking, and working his chosen life long career in food service. Leslie was a volunteer for the Good Samaritan Clinic in Tupelo for 20 years.
He is survived by his only son, Steven Miller and his wife Christy of Tupelo; four grandchildren, Nichole Irmer, Leslie Chrestman (Jeffrey), Katy Massey (Jason), and Sidney Miller (Kameron); five great grandchildren, Presley Irmer, Everette Irmer, Jocelyn Chrestman, Daphne Chrestman, and Alden Falls.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Vance Miller and his parents.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Lee Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am Friday, March 21, 2025 at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Phil Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jason Massey, Sidney Miller, Jeffrey Chrestman, Worth Robinson, Drake Sanders, and Darren Hudson.
