Mr. Leslie Thackerson, age 77 of Hytop, Alabama passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Hytop Holiness Church with Bro. James “Totchie” McLain and Bro. Todd Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Hytop Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2024 at Scottsboro Funeral Home and from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Hytop Holiness Church.
Mr. Thackerson was a lifelong member of Hytop Holiness Church, he was a volunteer fireman, and Mayor of the Town of Hytop for over 20 years. He served his country and is a Vietnam Veteran. He had a love for tinkering on cars, retired as a School Bus Driver at Skyline, and dearly loved the kids. He loved to travel with his friends to Canada for fishing.
Mr. Thackerson is survived by his wife of 55 years Vivian Thackerson, Daughters; Tammy (Steve) Hambrick and Tara Thackerson. Granddaughters; Kyndal Crump and Kylie Thackerson Evans (Colton). Sister; Mary (Bill) Cagle, Brother; Levon (Lisa Thackerson), several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Edith Thackerson, Sisters; Novella Elliott, Virgie Dean and Doretha Bailey, Brothers; Gene, Wendall, Alford Thackerson
