Leslie Ray Boling  Leslie Ray Boling, “Les,” stepped into his Heavenly Father’s presence on Father’s Day, June 18, 2023. Stepped is a key word as he was a double amputee and looked forward to running down streets of gold and feeling grass between his toes again!

A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, June 24th at 11:00 am with visitation 10:00 am., at Edgewood Congregational Church. There will be a meal to follow in the fellowship hall.

Les was born on May 6, 1960 to John and Betty Boling of Jacksonville, AL. He spent most of his childhood on B Street in the Mill Village. Les was a 1978 graduate of Jacksonville High School where he developed his love for music in the JHS Golden Eagle Band as a snare drummer. He continued his drumming in the Jacksonville State University Marching Southerners and in the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps. He later earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from JSU.

As a son of a veteran, Les loved the military and wanted to join the United States Air Force but did not pass the physical due to Kidney issues, he developed genetic Polycystic Kidney Disease later in life. Since he could not enlist, he did the next best thing by working in government contracts at Ft. McClellan and Anniston Army Depot where he was around military personnel. He was the proud father of two sons who served and serve in the Air Force and Marines.

Les was preceded in Heaven by his parents, John and Betty Boling, his sister, Brenda Billiau and his brother, Timmy Boling.

Left to cherish his memory are wife, Martha Bain Boling, sons, Sean Boling and Jake Boling, stepson, Robby (Christian) Kimbrough, stepdaughter, Livi (Micah) Junior. He dearly loved his grandchildren, Molly, Noah, Andy, Luke, and Ben Junior, although not blood, they captured his heart and he was thankful he got to experience being a “Grandpa.” He leaves behind a precious sister, Jean Thompson, and mother
of his sons, Dawn Wade.

In lieu of flowers, Les asked that donations be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, Tunnel to Towers, Til Valhalla Project, or Edgewood Congregational Methodist Church
