Leroy (Lee) Dudley Makinson – Obituary

Leroy (Lee) Dudley Makinson, 84, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013, at his home in Florence, AL. Lee, was born May 14, 1929, to Leroy and Mildred Makinson in Council Bluffs, Iowa, as one of four children. He graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. in engineering.
Lee served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He worked as an engineer and manager at Reynolds Metals for over 28 years.
After retirement, Lee served as member and president of the Korean War Veterans Association. He loved to spend time mastering new technologies and researching family history. He was a faithful member of Faith Tabernacle church and taught adult Sunday School for many years.
Lee is survived by his wife, Juanita; stepdaughters Diane Hamner (Killen, AL) and Jacquelyn Garrett (Nashville, TN); siblings Frank Makinson (Oregon), Elaine Birdsley (Iowa), and Joyce Argrove (Arizona); sons Paul and Mark Makinson (Indiana); 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Lee James Makinson.
On Dec 19th he took his afternoon nap and never woke up. His family is comforted by his peaceful passing, knowing that he is absent from his body but present with Jesus.
A memorial service, officiated by Brother Mike Nash will be held at Faith Tabernacle Church, Florence Alabama, Monday December 23, 2013 at 11 a.m.
