Lerlene Butler Guinn – Obituary

Lerlene-Guinn-1463758440Lerlene Butler Guinn age 88 passed away May 20, 2016 at her home.

She was born in Mifflin and reared in Chester County, the daughter on the late William James and Willie Celdon Faucett Butler. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1946. She married C.D. Gurinn, Jr. on November 25, 1950 and they made their home in Henderson all their married life except for a couple of years that Junior was in the U.S. Navy.

She worked as a clerk for John and Nita Hodges owners of The Ben Franklin Store and then for Wood and Miller Dry Goods and then at Four Seasons Nursery for Don Bailey and Larry Kent.
She was a long time and very active member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson, were she taught Sunday school, song in the choir and participated in many other church activities.

Mrs. Guinn is survived by her husband Junior Guinn and a brother Bud Butler both of Henderson. Several nieces and nephews: Rose Kaiser (Jimmy), Patricia Trougard (George), Doug Leath (Karen), David Guinn (Darlene), Wayne Guinn, Janice Guinn.

She was preceded in death by two sisters; Sue Leath and Faye Butler, and a nephew Steve Guinn.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Henderson with Bro. Stan Smith and Bro. Brad Patterson officiating. Burial will be in the Henderson City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church from 5 PM to 9 PM on Saturday and again on Sunday at the church from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM service time.
