Leonard Oneal MitchellLeonard Oneal Mitchell, age 79, of Russellville, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024. A devoted brother, father, and grandfather, Oneal was a man who cherished his family above all else and had a lifelong passion for racing that brought him joy and excitement.

Oneal was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Mitchell; his daughter, Treva Mitchell; his parents, Helen Isbell and Clarence Mitchell; his brother, Odas Mitchell; and his sister, Dessie Thomas.

He is survived by his loving family, including his brother James (Sandy) Mitchell; his sisters, Betty Sandusky, Katie (Hudson) Franklin, and Eva Mansell; and his children: Phyllis Mills, Norman Mitchell, Brian (Brandie) Mitchell, and Dustin (Candis) Mitchell.

Oneal was the proud grandfather of Brandy (Iman) Waters, Tyler (Tina) Mills, Braden (Morgan) Mitchell, Bryson Mitchell, Hailey Mitchell, Braxton Mitchell, Kalei Mitchell, and Karlei Mitchell, as well as a great-grandfather to little Indy Mitchell. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Known for his kind heart, warm smile, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones, Oneal created a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Whether he was at a family gathering or enjoying the thrill of the racetrack, he left an impression on everyone he met.

A memorial service to honor Oneals life will be held at a later date. The family invites all who knew and loved him to join in celebrating the life of this extraordinary man who will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
