Leonard Hugh Hale, age 76, passed away Thursday January 27, 2022 at NHC Health Care in Cookeville from an extended illness.  Hugh was a Van Buren County native born on September 9, 1945 to the late Clifton and Myrtle Simmons Hale. Hugh was a long-time real estate agent, owner of H & H Real Estate, a 1963 graduate of Van Buren County High School and a member of Spencer Church of God of Prophecy.

In addition to his parents, Hugh was preceded in death by daughter; Melodie Hale, brothers; Houston, Hubert and Willie Hale, sisters; Selva Jean Wheeler and Betty Jewell Hale.

He is survived by his loving family, wife; Lillie Troglen Hale, daughter; Jacqueline Hale, sisters; Juanita (Freddie) Harding, Delilah McCarver, grandchildren; Desiree Dodson, Marina Young, great-grandchildren; Arabella Dodson, John Maverick Hall and Raelynn Young. Special friends; Thomas Chandler, Dr. Randy Dickerson M.D. and Buckshot Cunningham.  Many nieces, nephews and extended family also survives.

A special thanks to Van Buren County Emergency Medical Services for all the kindness they gave during Hugh’s illness.

Funeral services will be held Saturday January 29, 2021 at 2:00pm in the Layne Chapel with Bro. Jordon Jared and Bro. Freddie Harding officiating.  Burial will follow in the Spencer Town Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday 10:00am till time of service at 2:00pm.
