Mr. Leonard Eugene Marshall was born on January 3, 1964, in Medon, TN to the late Mr. Raymond and Lula Pearl March Marshall. He answered God’s call on Monday morning on May 23, 2022, at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA.
At an early age Leonard accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He lived a prosperous life and never met a stranger. To know him was to love him. He attended West High School and was the class President of the class of 1982. He played football, basketball and was very active in school.
After high school Leonard Marshall choose to serve his country and enlisted in the U.S. Marines. He would eventually be stationed in the Bay Area where he fell in love with the city. After leaving the service, he would remain in the area to start his family with his high school sweetheart Ms. Tina Marshall whom he united in holy matrimony on February 6, 1983. He would have his 1st and only child Justin Marshall on April 30, 1984. Being a husband and father motivated Leonard to work hard so that he could provide them with everything.
He would begin driving trucks with the help of his brother Jewel eventually creating his own company L.E.M. Trucking where he was owner and operator for over 20 years. During, his years of driving he helped many of his friends get into the trucking industry. Leonard had so many joys including concerts in the summer mainly Maze ft Frankie Beverly, fishing, rooting for the raiders, riding his motorcycle, grilling bbq (didn’t matter what day) and would later join the bay area black cowboys. Leonard defied the odds of what many expected from him as he would become a successful business owner, homeowner, travelled the world and his friends.
Although his most cherished accomplishment was his family that he was proud of and they were proud of him. It wasn’t the traditional route but, he ended up getting his American dream on his terms during his 58 yrs on this world. If you ever got the chance to be around him you would know he lived it to the fullest cherishing every moment.
He was preceded in death by his brother Willie Lee Marshall and sister Oletha Luten.
He leaves to cherish great memories his wife Tina Marshall of Los Angeles, CA. His only son, Justin Marshall of Nashville, TN, three brothers Jewel (Luz) Marshall of Oakland, CA, William (Pamela) Marshall of St. Petersburg, VA, James (LaWonna) Marshall of Medon, TN four sisters Ethel Brooks of Denmark, TN, Judy (Al) Wilder, Claudia Seals, and Carla Marshall all of Jackson, TN. One brother-in-law Charles Barnes of Jackson, TN, two sisters in law Charlene (Danny) Rogers of Tullahoma, TN and Tracey Davis of Murfreesboro, TN. One aunt Mrs. Christine Marshall of Medon, TN and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
