Leon Guzinsky died peacefully while resting and enjoying the beauty of Lake Guntersville at his eldest son’s home. His last words were, “this is so nice.”

Leon Guzinsky was the son of Simon Guzinsky and Clara Slavinsky and was originally from Pottsville, PA. He graduated with a masters in EE from Johns Hopkins University before joining the Army as an officer in the Ordinance Corps. He married Patricia Lee Shotter and went to work for NASA as soon as he left the US Army. While at NASA, Mr. Guzinsky worked critical national programs which included Saturn, Apollo, Shuttle, and Space Station. Mr. Guzinsky retired in 1991 and resumed a childhood passion for painting and participated with the Huntsville Art League. He spent his final years caring for his wife.

Mr. Guzinsky is survived by his wife; his 3 sons, David, Daniel, and Phillip; as well as his grandson, Alexander.

There will be a graveside service Sunday, June 16, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. in Maple Hill Cemetery. All are welcome to attend.
