Lenoir Wadlington Stanley, age 72, passed away on December 25, 2023. She was born in Memphis, TN, on October 9, 1951, to Dr. Lamar and Billie Wadlington. Lenoir graduated from Corinth High School, attended Mississippi State College for Women and graduated from The University of Mississippi in 1973, where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. In that same year, she married the love of her life, John C. Stanley IV.
She and John moved back to Corinth, where she dedicated her life to serving others, leaving an indelible mark on her community. As a lifelong resident of Corinth, she tirelessly worked to make it a better place, frequently serving through various organizations. She was a lifelong member of the Corinth Junior Auxiliary, the Colonial Dames, Fin de Siecle Club, and the Mississippi Commission for Volunteer Service. She also served as a cub scout leader and was actively involved with the Corinth Alcorn Animal Shelter, sharing her love for dogs by adopting more than her fair share. Her philanthropic spirit also reached the University of Mississippi’s School of Applied Sciences, where she was an enthusiastic benefactor and served on the alumni board.
And while her involvement in community affairs showcased her dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of others, no one benefited more from Lenoir’s life of service than her beloved family and friends. Her commitment to her boys, husband, and friends was unwavering, and her love and warmth of spirit were a constant source of strength to all those who were fortunate enough to be around her.
