Funeral service for Lenda A. Dodd, 76, will be Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church in Hartselle with Bro. Jordan Dodd and Bro. David Deckard officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery, immediately following the funeral service. Family will begin receiving friends 11:00 AM at the Church.
Mrs. Dodd died on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at her residence. She was born July 26, 1946, in Mobile County, to James Robert Fortner and Betty Beilhart Fortner. She graduated from Phil Campbell High School and then married her sweetheart, Grady Dodd in 1966. Together, they had 3 children, James, Tim and Beckey and 6 grandchildren.
Lenda accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and served Him with her amazing gift of cooking for many years. If you know her, you are probably thinking of your favorite dish she made for you to nurse you back to health or to celebrate a life event. She was a selfless servant who found such joy in her children and grandchildren.

Sons – James G. Dodd (Angie)
Timothy L. Dodd (Danielle)
Daughter – Beckey S. Jones (Ryan)
Brother – Glen Fortner
Grandchildren – Tyler Dodd, Andrew Dodd, Jordan Dodd, Savannah Greene, Justin Ogle and Alyssa Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: John Fortner.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Dodd, Andrew Dodd, Justin Ogle, Kris Fortner, Christopher Greene and Chris Wilson.
