Lena has been a long-standing member of The First Presbyterian Church of Guntersville where Rev. Wesley Brock baptized her and several of her grandchildren in Lake Guntersville. Ms. Aust was a strong independent lady beating cancer four times. She has always taken care of everyone, feeding friends, neighbors and anyone that walked in her door. She had a big hand in helping to raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lena never learned to drive but has lived alone taking care of herself until close to her 98th birthday. Her grandson, Matthew and Niece Joyce along with a few special people have taken great care of her these past few months as she declined. Matthew spent the night with her at the nursing home and she took her last breath with him as the sun was rising on January 19th.
