Lena Peden Hubbard – Obituary

Lena Peden Hubbard, 77, of Muscle Shoals, died Wednesday, May 8, 2019.

Services will be held at East Colbert Church of Christ. Visitation will be Sunday, May 12th from 2 to 3:30 p.m. with funeral service immediately following. Burial will follow the funeral at Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Ms. Hubbard was a native of Colbert County, and a member of East Colbert Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Paul and Grace Ledlow Peden; sisters, Mary Lee Kilgore, Bessie Edwards, Jewel Dean Bass, Louise Brumley and Sarah Fisher; and brothers, Billy Peden, Bobby Peden, Junior Peden and Willard Peden. Ms. Hubbard is survived by her son, Billy J. Woods, Jr., wife, Faith Landers Woods; brother, Leonard Peden; and twin brother, Jessie Roy Peden, wife, Carolyn.

Lena retired as a food service employee from Helen Keller Hospital. She loved the joys of the kitchen, cooking as an occupation and in her personal time. Favorite activities included the East Colbert Fish Fry, watching western movies, and gardening.

The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice, Dr. Hemant Patel, Dr. Jeffery DeFoor, Dr. Stanley Clarke, Morgan Bonds, Dr. Karen Landers, and Dr. Grace Landers for impeccable medical care. Additionally, aides, Candy Letson and Miranda Pugh, neighbor, Doyle Gene Aday, cousin, Sue Coosenberry, and numerous friends that are family for their support in all forms.

Pallbearers are Charlie Bass, Chris Fisher, Joey Holt, Shaun Johnson, Johnny Peden and Leif Trousdale. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Evans and the sons of Leonard Peden.
