  Lelton WestbrookLelton M. Wesbrook, 90 of Arab passed away Monday, September 18, 2023, at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice in Albertville. Lelton was born June 26, 1933, in Marshall County, the son of John P. Westbrook and Ethel Ruby Michael Westbrook. He was a graduate of Woodlawn High School, Class of 1952 and honorably discharged from the US Navy, serving on the aircraft carrier USS Lake Champlain, 1952 – 1956. On November 8, 1956, he married the love of his life, Myrna Faye Copeland. He retired from Williams Detroit Diesel and was an inactive Mason. He and Faye were active in the Arab Historical Society until there health began declining.

As a young man, Lelton was an avid fisherman, hunter, tennis player and golfer in which he was a member of the Quail Ridge Country Club for over 20 years. He enjoyed playing basketball as a teenager. He encouraged both of his sons to play many different sports and taught them to love fishing and hunting as well. He followed the University of Alabama football from the 1960’s to present, and enjoyed talking to anyone who wanted to, about the Crimson Tide.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years: Faye Westbrook; son: Ledell Westbrook; daughter: Myrna Westbrook Daniel; grandchildren: Phillip James Daniel, Jr, Ryan Alexander Daniel and Brandi Kaitlyn Westbrook; great grandchildren: Rhea Daniel, Arya Daniel and Sean Daniel. He was preceded by a son: Randy Paul Wesbrook and parents: J.P. and Ethel Westbrook.

Graveside Service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2023, at the Arab Memorial Cemetery with Brother Randy Monk officiating, Gober Funeral Chapel directing.
