Leland David Stephens, 87, of Lubbock, Texas, formerly of Paden, Mississippi, died Monday, October 29, 2012, at his residence at Carillon House in Lubbock, TX. Mr. Stephens was born in Paden, MS on November 5, 1924 to Walter Scott and Emma Stephens. After serving in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WWII, Mr. Stephens entered the F. B. I., where he retired as a Special Agent in Charge in 1977. After a period of time as administrator in the Federated States of Micronesia, he returned to Lubbock. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 5, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Rev. Tim Hankins. Interment will follow in Tishomingo Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until service time at the funeral home on Monday. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by a son, David Stephens and wife, Julie, of Austin, TX; two sisters, Willard of Bridgeport, AL, and Marie of Pensacola, FL; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Cloe E. Stephens in 2009. The family would like to thank Carillon House.
