Lee Ledbetter Coggins Lee Ledbetter Coggins, 59, passed away in her home in Huntsville, AL on September 13th. She was a loving mother, grandmother, wife and daughter. She was an active member of Whitesburg Baptist Church. Lee was born in Birmingham, AL and attended Banks High School and was an active member of Berney Points Baptist Church. Lee attended the University of Alabama and Samford University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She started her nursing career at The University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital.

In 1987, she moved to Meridian, MS and was employed by Riley Hospital. She later married and served as a Navy wife at military duty stations, Naval Air Station Cecil Field, FL and Naval Air Station Key West, FL. In 1996, she moved to Huntsville, AL where she has served as a youth worker at Willowbrook Baptist Church and Life’s Journey Church before attending Whitesburg Baptist Church. Lee spent a lifetime making a positive impact on those around her. During her recent battle with cancer, she once again saw a need and started the Lee Coggins Patient Care Fund through Huntsville Hospital.

She lived a life with passion for her faith, children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Bill Coggins; daughters, Lauren Barry (Brett), of Birmingham, AL and Sarah Jones (Parker) of Huntsville, AL; mother, Patricia Benabib, of Miami, FL; father, Roy Ledbetter, of Birmingham, AL; sisters, Toni Roth of Huntsville, AL and Toby Hanna of Destin, FL; and brother, Wayne Ledbetter of Birmingham, AL.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16th, at Whitesburg Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17th, at the church with Dr. Darryl Craft and Rev. Keith Miller officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
