In special memory of the beloved Lee Ellis Patterson Jr., 61, who transitioned this life on Nov. 11, 2016, in the comfort of his home in Grand Prairie, Texas. Mr. Patterson was born on June 24, 1955, in Florence, Alabama to Lee Ellis Patterson Sr. and Annie Ruth Jackson. Lee attended Coffee High School and graduated in 1973.
After graduation, Lee enrolled into the United States Navy where he served his country from 1974-1976. Advancing his career in electrical and mechanical equipment repair, Lee moved to his long-term residence of Flint, Michigan where he dedicated nearly 40 years of service to the General Motors Flint Truck and Bus Group before relocating to the GM Arlington Assembly Plant in 2008.
Mr. Patterson was preceded in his death by father, Lee Ellis Patterson Sr.; mother, Annie Ruth Patterson; and brother, Norris Patterson.
Surviving family members in his memory include brothers, Kenneth (Linda) Patterson and David Patterson; sisters, Lena Cole, Lisa Carter, and Audrey Smith-McIntosh; special friend, Starletta Gibson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A dedicated family man, Lee was a proud and loving father to four daughters, LaeShawn (Kevin) Johnson, Arianne Ferguson, Zaneta Chuniq Inpower, and Sasha Patterson; to former spouse of 20 years, Phyllis Lomax-Patterson; and his favorite girls, three very special granddaughters, Armani Ferguson, Ameira Gillespie, and Promise Inpower.
Visitation will be held at Spry-Williams Funeral Home, 1950 Helton Dr., Florence AL, 35630 from 1-8 p.m. today with family hour from 6-8 p.m. Homegoing services will be held promptly at 11 a.m., with visitation at the church at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 15, 2016, at Rock Primitive Baptist Church, 5564 Gunwaleford Rd., Florence, AL, 35630. Burial services will follow immediately after.
