Lee A. Thompson, Jr., age 89, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Wednesday, November 02, 2016 at his residence. He was a native of Lawrenceburg, TN, and retired owner of Thompson Furniture & Appliances with 34 years of service to the community. Mr. Thompson was a former treasurer for Lawrenceburg Little League, charter member of the Lawrenceburg Civitan Club, and a member of College Place Church of Christ where he served as a former deacon and treasurer. He enjoyed making and selling birdhouses, fishing, sports, and visiting with his children. Mr. Thompson served his country honorably as a Corporal in the U.S. Marines in China and Japan during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Albert Thompson, Sr. and Bertha Trapp Thompson; two brothers, Kenneth Thompson and Dennis Thompson; and two sisters, Kay Thompson and Willadean Thompson.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, November 04, 2016 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 05, 2016, with Ron Stringer officiating. Interment will follow at Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN with full military honors. Family suggests memorials be made to American Lung Association.
