Lea Francis VoylesLea Francis Voyles went to be with her Creator on Sunday, February 4, 2024. She was 87 years old. Lea was born on January 4, 1937, in Coahoma County, but she lived in Pontotoc for most of her life. She was married in 1954 to the love of her life James Melvin “Joe” Voyles with whom she had 4 children. She has been a long-standing member of Turnpike Baptist Church for 70 years. She loved her Sunday school class like family and looked forward to helping with vacation Bible school every year. She worked at Smith & Nephew for 21 years.

Visitation will be from 10am-2pm with a service celebrating her life following at 2pm on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Turnpike Baptist Church. Long time pastor and family friend Bro. Pete Gregory will officiate. Private family burial will follow at Turnpike cemetery.

Lea is survived by her children Rex Voyles (Cheri), Donna Wood (late Kelly Wood), and David Neal Voyles; grandchildren Paul Voyles, Brandon Voyles, Shawna Yarbrough, Jessica Jones, Andy Tyson, Karli Jones, Brian Voyles, Cody Voyles, Brittany Jenkins and Katie Kidd; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings Lottie Norman, Betty Sue Bass, Joyce Scroggins and Janette Stacks

Preceded in death by James Voyles, Jacky Voyles, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Pallbearers: Paul Voyles, Brandon Voyles, Andy Tyson, Brian Voyles, Brian Jones and Jason Yarbrough.

Honorary pallbearers: Ray Spencer and Tim Conlee.
