Lawton R. Waldrep of Crane Hill passed away on December 30, 2018 at his residence at the age of 92. He was born on February 27, 1926 to Millard G. and Rosa Lee Bigbee Waldrep. He was a veteran of The United States Navy. He is prececed in death by his parents, brothers Alvin Eugene Waldrep, Arthur L. Waldrep, Gerald Waldrep, James “Jimmy” H. Waldrep, sisters in law Frances Waldrep, Sarah Waldrep, Inez Waldrep, Beverly Waldrep. Funeral services are Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Flat Rock United Methodist Church at 12 Noon. He will lie in state at the church from 10 AM until service time. Pastor Mac Larkin and Rev. Bo Prewett will officiate. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Survivors are: wife Bertha Mae Jackson Waldrep, daughter Carolyn Marie Hunt, sons Horace Lee Waldrep, Michael Wayne (Jayne) Waldrep, Robert Neal (Donna) Waldrep, brother Talmadge Waldrep, sister in law Josephine Burrow Waldrep, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Visitation is Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Moss Funeral Home from 6 PM until 9 PM.
