Graveside service for Lawrence “Larry” Pahman, age 92, formerly of Decatur, will be Friday, August 27, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Dancy’s Chapel Cemetery, beside his beloved wife, with Shelton Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Pahman died Thursday, August 19, 2021, at the home of his son, Larry, Jr., in Newberry, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn Ruth (Park) Pahman.

He is survived by his four sons, Larry, Jr., Fred Pahman, Timothy Pahman, and Nathan Pahman. He also is survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was an employee of General Motors from 1950 – 1988, and was a journeyman die maker and machinist. He served in the U. S. Navy as an instrument Flying Instructor from 1948 – 1950. Mr. Pahman was an avid Bible student, reading for many years six chapters a day. In 1951, he left denominationalism and was baptized into the body of Christ (I Corinthians 12:13; Romans 6:3-6), and taught a Bible class for many years. He also served in the churches of Christ (Romans 16:16) as a deacon and an elder (I Timothy 3; Titus 1). His pastimes were golf and fishing, and he was known for his clean “corny” jokes. “Grandpa” was dearly loved by his family.
