Lawrence “Larry” Hartman entered his new life on October 16, 2021. He was born to Max and Nell Rodgers Hartman on May 14, 1948, in San Antonia, Texas. Larry graduated from Central Catholic High School and St. Mary’s University, both in San Antonio, with a B.S. Mathematics and entered the United State Army as an Air Defense Artillery Officer.
In 1972, he married Lynne at Fort Bliss, Texas. During his 13-year Army career, he was stationed in South Korea, Japan, Greece and the United States. After leaving active duty, he remained in the Army Reserves and was ultimately retired as a Lt. Colonel. He pursued a career as a Program Analyst in the Department of Defense Missile Defense Agency at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL. Altogether he served 51 years with the US government.
Larry has joined his parents and beloved fur babies in Heaven. Although Larry is not in the flesh, he is with his wife, Lynne, or as he affectionately called her “What’s Her Name”, of 49 ½ years, his sister, Betty Buchanan and her husband Jim. His Nephews, William and Lewis Buchanan; his grand-niece, Alayna Buchanan and “adopted” nephew and niece, Ravi and Karina Locker and Sophia and Maria Glazov.
A funeral mass will be announced and held at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Huntsville. Gober Funeral Chapel assisted the Hartman family with cremation arrangements.
