Mr. Lawrence “Larry” Harris Cash, age 83, a resident of Rock Springs Road in Columbia, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021, at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Kirk Shepard officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Love in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Thursday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on August 8, 1937, in Cleves, Ohio, Lawrence was the son of the late Lionel Cash and the late Alma Bowman Cash. He married Janet Berry Cash on December 29, 1956; she preceded him in death on September 1, 2018. He previously worked for Monsanto in Ohio for several years before beginning his work at General Motors in 1976. He transferred to Columbia, Tennessee in 1989 where he continued his work in maintenance as a welder until he retired on November 1, 2004. Although Lawrence enjoyed all sports, he was an avid golfer who also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lawrence was a member of Southern Hills Church of Christ.
He is survived by his daughters, Deborah (Edward) Elsbury of Lawrenceburg, IN, Sandra (Donald) Simmons of Columbia, TN, brother, Don (Diane) Cash of Pride, LA, grandchildren, Jenna (Robert) Schaeffler of Guilford, IN, Jesika (Eric) Hostetler of Greendale, IN, Michael Cash (Leslie Neal) of Columbia, TN, Caitlyn (Richard) Jones of Columbia, Donald Curtis Simmons (Zoe Attkisson) of Columbia, TN, great grandchildren, Hannah Cash, Carter Jones, Alyson Jones, Maelyn Jones, Cash Schaeffler, Bennett Gray Hostetler, and Henleigh Mae Simmons, and beloved dog, Andrew.
Pallbearers will be Donald Lee Simmons, Donald Curtis Simmons, Eric Hostetler, Michael Cash, Edward Elsbury, and Trevor Crews. Honorary pallbearers will include William Richard Jones and Robert Schaeffler.
