Lawrence Kraft Main Profile PhotoLawrence Kraft Main was born August 23, 1964 in Fremont, MI, the son of the late Charles Glenn Main and Geraldine May Main Aschedge. He departed this life on March 9, 2024 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 59 Years, 6 Months, 15 Days.

Lawrence was a graduate of McNairy Central High School in the class of 1983. After completing High School, Lawrence joined the US Navy in July of 1984, where he completed his basic training in Great Lakes, ILL August of 1984. After basic training he completed Fireman Apprenticeship Training and Basic Training of engineering in September of 1984. October of 1984 Lawrence was assigned to the U.S.S. Trenton, Norfolk, Virginia. In 1985 Lawrence completed Engineering Training School Ship. Lawrence served on the U.S.S. Trenton until June of 1988. He completed his Navy service with the reserves in July 1990 with the rank of PO2 E5.

Lawrence was joined in marriage to Vickie Sue Nelson on May 26, 1989. He and Vickie enjoyed 19 years of marriage before her passing in 2008.

A faithful servant both to his country and his community, he started his working career in 1988 with Ripley Industries of Adamsville, TN. He also worked for Henco and G.E. of Selmer, TN. in 1989. Moving on to Pettigrew Ford of Adamsville, Tn for a year as an auto mechanic, which was his passion from his youth. From there Lawrence went to Aqua Glass of Adamsville, TN. in 1992.

Lawrence’s passion for auto mechanics eventually led him to Auto Zone, where he dedicated an impressive 33 years of service. He worked at many different Auto Zone locations throughout West TN during this time and enjoyed his work.

He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed training in the Martial Arts.
Next to his love for cars and auto mechanics was his love of dogs. A love that gave many strays a caring home over the years.

Lawrence will be remembered as a compassionate Christian man whose spirit of service transcended mere titles. With a servant’s heart like no other and a willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need, he left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Lawrence is survived by, a nephew he loved as the son he never had, Michael Main and wife Amber of Selmer, TN; a sister, Doretta Byrd and husband Steven of Selmer, TN; a brother, Lawren Main of Middleton, TN; five nieces, Anna Bauman and husband Paul of Bethel Springs, TN, Regina Colwell of Adamsville, TN, Michelle Routh of Selmer, TN, Sharlena Allen of Ramer, TN, and Katrina Steward of Selmer, TN; seven nephews, Charles Pymer and wife Tricia of Selmer, TN, Raymond Pymer of Leesburg, FL, Oscar Main and wife Katie of Bethel Springs, TN, Roger Chaney and wife Michelle of Finger, TN, William Chaney III of White Cloud MI, Jeremiah Malley and wife Kara of Springfield, MO, and James Main of Oxford, MS; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Main was preceded in death by, his wife Vickie Nelson Main; two sisters, Mealonie Bicker, Flo Anna Main McDaniel; three brothers, Carl Main, William Main, Robert Charles Main; a great nephew, Michael Lambert.
