Lawrence Edward Hester, age 90, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021, at his residence. He was a native of Tuscumbia, AL, retired from L&N Railroad, and of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Hester served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Bertha Mitchell Hester; his wife, Gertrude Hester; and one daughter, Martha Kay Hester Walters.
He is survived by two sisters, Jean Caperton of Lawrenceburg, TN and Lucille Britnell of OK; one brother, Wayne Hester of Tuscumbia, AL; several nieces, nephews, and one special great-great-niece, Kayzlee Williams.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Neal Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens with full military honors at 4:00 PM Thursday, September 30, 2021, with Danny Benson officiating.
