Mr. Lawrence Edward Gooch, of Bolivar, passed from this life Friday morning, April 17, 2015 at the age of 66 years, 7 months and 9 days.
Born in Hardeman County, September 8, 1948 to William Ezra and Lizzie Irene Doyle Gooch, he was an active member of Porter’s Creek Baptist Church. He graduated with the Class of 1966 at Bolivar Central High School and served his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He lived all his life in Hardeman County and loved working with Boy Scouts of America, woodworking, painting, yard work, his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include 2 sons, Kevin Gooch and wife Jennifer, and Mark Gooch and wife Michelle all of Bolivar; 2 brothers, David Gooch of Bolivar and Lester Gooch and wife Rosemary of Drummonds, TN; 6 grandchildren, Brianna Gooch, Lyndsy, Lane and Kelby Edmondson, Cheyann and Tary Coffelt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Lee Watson and an Aunt Rachel Ludella “Dump” Burke.
The family requests that memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
