Lawrence Delano “Larry” Parmley, age 80, of Decatur died Sunday, February 4, 2024, at his residence with his family by his side. His family may host a celebration of life at a later date. Parkway Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Mr. Parmley was born June 2, 1943, in Kentucky to John Parmley and Ferbie Gross Parmley. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Parmley; parents; three brothers, Carl Parmley, Kenneth Parmley, and Gene Parmley; and sister, Vena Harris. Larry was a member at Life Church in Hartselle. He was involved with a clown ministry where he was known as Rainbow D. Clown. Larry was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Moody Parmley; two daughters, Nancy Rowley (Bryan) and Darla Warner (Stephen); two brothers, Roscoe Parmley and Jim Parmley; seven grandchildren, Josh Winingear, Alyssa Pigg, Jordan Skomp, Lauren Warner, Jacob Warner, Samuel Warner, and Caroline Warner; eight great-grandchildren; two nephews, Jacob Jones and Reed Jones; and niece, Kimberly Jones (Josh)
