LAWRENCE COUNTY-At approximately 1am September 15th, 2024, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office Swift Water Rescue Team was dispatched to assist the Courtland Fire Department in responding to a report of a stranded individual on
the roof of his truck amidst rising floodwaters on County Road 150.
the roof of his truck amidst rising floodwaters on County Road 150.The Morgan County Rescue Squad’s Swift Water Rescue Team were called to assist, deploying a rescue boat to the scene.
Swift Water Rescue Divers entered the fast-moving floodwaters and safely retrieved the stranded individual. The subject was transferred to a rescue boat and brought to safety without injury.
The operation took approximately 5 hours to complete.
