Lawrence Pritchard Lawrence Alpha Pritchard died Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the age of 90. Lawrence, or to many of his friends Larry, was born on September 2, 1933, in Tallahatchie County. He was the only son of Lawrence C. Pritchard and Mollie McCullough Pritchard. Lawrence graduated from West Tallahatchie County High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. Upon discharge he worked over 40 years at Stephens-Adamson in Clarksdale. Following his retirement he traveled throughout the United States, Brazil, and Mexico doing mission work. He was awarded the prestigious Saltillo Lion’s Club Citizen of the Year Award for his continued community service.

Lawrence was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping with friends and family. He was a talented woodworker and made anything from furniture to home décor items, sharing his creations with family and friends. He enjoyed sports, and throughout the 1960’s and 1970’s he shot coach’s film for junior high school, high school, college, and professional football teams. He was a faithful member of Clarksdale Baptist Church and active participant in the choir, a Deacon, and led several search committees. After relocating to Saltillo, he attended Faith Baptist Church. In his later years, he enjoyed traveling to various parts of the world with groups; his favorite trip being the Holy Land.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Bobbie Harmon Pritchard; daughter, Danita Pritchard Munday (Patrick) of Terry; son, Timothy Lawrence Pritchard (Lynn) of Saltillo; granddaughters, Jessica Morris of Orlando, Florida, Meredith Morris of Los Angeles, California, and Elisabeth Munday of Terry; grandson, Doug Beard; great-granddaughter, Kaitlynn Beard; and his sister, Bonnie Pritchard Bradford of Cullman, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Pegues, Saltillo.

Services honoring his life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the Saltillo Chapel of Pegues with Bro. Ray Oliver officiating. Graveside services will follow at Saltillo Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Scott Knight, Mark Cannon, Bill Knight, Jr., Chandler Knight, Preston Knight, and David Smith. John-Eli Tull will serve as honorary pallbearer.
