Lawrence A. LeprellLawrence A LePrell, 85, of Anniston, formerly of Buffalo, NY, passed away peacefully March 15th, 2024 at his residence.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce LePrell; his daughter, Tammy Cryder, by his son, Jason LePrell; grandchildren, Donna LePrell, Brandy Watkins, Heather Cryder (Nathan Tolbert); by his great-grandchildren, Andrew Watkins (Brianna Bonness), Madison Blankenship, Jonathan Blankenship, Jeremiah Tolbert and by his great-great grandchild, Isabella Pumroy.
Preceding Mr. LePrell in death were his parents Leroy and Doris LePrell, and his siblings, Janet Miller, Gladys Bailey, and James LePrell.

As a young man he served in the army in the Korean Conflict. After serving his country, he completed a three-year painter apprenticeship in Buffalo, NY. While working as a painter and wallpaper hanger, he became the president of the Painters and Allied Trades Union of Anniston and later the president of the Anniston Labor Council. He had worked at Anniston Decorating Center, Herman’s Decorating Center in Anniston, and Colours in Gadsden. He remained a lifelong painter even after retirement and was still taking small jobs until four months prior to his passing. He believed in staying active. He was a member of Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church and volunteered for the Beans and Rice Ministry where his dedication reached beyond the walls of the parish hall and into the community. He loved his family, his dog Roscoe, old westerns and war movies, and enjoyed spending time with his 4-year-old great grandson Jeremiah who kept him young at heart.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Saint Michael and All Angels in Anniston at PO Box 1884 Anniston, Alabama 36202.

The funeral is to be held at Saint Michael and All Angels on Friday March 22nd at 3:00 in the afternoon. Visitation will be from 2-3 in Lagarde Hall.
