Lawanda June Dennington Patterson – Obituary

Lawanda June Dennington Patterson age 87 passed away April 24, 2018 at the Adamsville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born February 21, 1931 in Parma, MO the daughter of the late Graydon Bland and Gertie Bell Menley Dennington. She grew up in the boothill of Missouri living in several towns as her parents were sharecroppers. She married Alton Franklin Patterson October 15, 1948. They moved to the Masseyville Community in 1963. She was a homemaker, and worked at Salant & Salant Mfg. and later I Appel for about five years. She was Pentecostal in faith.

She enjoyed reading, gardening, walking and quilting and was an excellent cook. She especially enjoyed her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Patterson is survived by two sons, Larry Patterson and wife Betty Sue of Selmer and Lanny Graydon Patterson of Bethel Springs and a daughter, Debbie Nelson and husband Donnie of Bethel Springs; a brother, James Dennington of Malden, MO and two sisters, Mary Wells and Ruth Tipton both of Puxico, MO; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alton Franklin Patterson April 15, 1996; a brother, Robert Dennington; a sister, Maxine Stewart and a granddaughter, Crystal Patterson.

Memorial services will be 7:00 PM Friday, April 27, 2018 at Bethel Springs Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Duane Offil officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday.
